If I was asked where God was during the tsunami, I don’t know how I would answer. I don’t think the question is God’s locality in the cosmos, but rather why He didn’t anything to stop the all the deaths. Or for the brave Christian the question is why did God do this?
My answer is, I don’t know.
But if I was asked where God is now, that I can begin to answer. I believe that God in a special way is in the Church universal. I do not claim that God only exists within the Church. I am saying that in a supernatural way the Church is the Body of Christ. We not only believe in the things the Son of God said, we believe in the things He did.
Jesus healed. He comforted. He made Himself available to those who needed him.
I dream of days when the world will look to the Church when evil and pain strike and ask her, not where was God then?, but rather what do we do now?.
